This joint effort is a sustained investment in agricultural research with the aim of building critical know-how and capacities over a longer period of time. Investment in agricultural research generates significant economic and wider societal returns notably through its impact on productivity and food security. Building on the faculties international leadership in agriculture, this endowed chair aims to boost all dimensions of the sustainability of production, yet without underestimating the necessity to maintain a sufficient and dynamic production basis in a more uncertain world.
