Science for Agriculture

The world needs farmers, and farmers need science.

Meeting the global demand for food, fibre and fuel is a key challenge for agriculture in the twenty-first century. The Faculty of Bioscience Engineering investigates how to address this challenge by developing an understanding of the complex biological, physical and social–economic factors that shape agricultural systems. Research includes soil science, genetics, cropping systems, environmental interaction, livestock production, and economics applied to agriculture. We provide modern agricultural tools and technologies that help farmers to feed a growing population, and to look after our planet.
